His academic credentials include a Doctorate in Physical Education and Education Administration, along with two Master’s degrees—one in Physical Education and another in Political Science. These achievements have laid a strong foundation for his professional endeavours, where he has become a key proponent of utilizing education as a tool for promoting peace, engaging in UN affairs, and advancing diplomatic efforts.

From Local to Global: Leadership Opportunities in UN International Organizations

Dr. Sabnis’s career is marked by his leadership roles in various intergovernmental and international non-governmental organizations recognized under United Nations ECOSOC status. Currently, he serves as the Additional Representative to the United Nations Geneva Office for the World Fund for Development & Planning (WFDP) and the Additional Representative to the United Nations Vienna Office for Lazarus Union. In these prestigious positions, he plays a crucial role in advancing the missions of both organizations, focusing on sustainable development, youth empowerment, and global peace initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Sabnis holds the significant title of Cabinet Minister within the Ministry of Sports for the African Diaspora (SOAD), an apex body established under the auspices of the African Union and in collaboration with the Pan African Parliament. His honours include the Rajya Puraskar from the Government of Maharashtra, the UN NGO Grand Cross and Honour Medal from Lazarus Union in Austria, and the Commemorative Medal of Peace presented by AISP SPIA on UN International Peacekeepers Day in 2022. In 2023, he received the Book for Peace Award from Funvic and UNESCO, along with the Star Education Award from the Education Department of Maharashtra. Additionally, he was honoured with the title of Honorable Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky and a presidential medal from President Joe Biden, recognizing his extensive voluntary contributions to global society.
