Saarathi Finance Adds Four New Branches Across Karnataka

The rollout is part of Saarathi’s second-phase expansion. Having closed Year One with over 70 branches across six states, the company is on track to add another 50-60 nationwide, with Karnataka a core state in that plan.

Saarathi selects new locations against a defined set of parameters, including the town’s economic growth trajectory relative to the state, the depth and profile of the local customer base, regional delinquency trends and the reach of existing competitors. Each of the four Karnataka towns brings a distinct MSME profile aligned to Saarathi’s lending model.

Ballari combines a mining-linked services economy with a growing garments cluster. Belagavi is one of the country’s largest foundry and manufacturing hubs. Dharwad anchors a large agri and services cluster in the northern belt. Tiptur is a leading centre for coconut and copra trading.

“Fewer than one in ten Indian MSMEs has ever accessed formal credit, and in a diverse state like Karnataka that number hides an even sharper reality,” said Pramod N, State Business Head, Karnataka.

 “A foundry owner in Belagavi, a copra trader in Tiptur and a garment unit head in Ballari run completely different businesses, but they share one experience, none of them has ever had a lender who understood their cash flows. That is a problem to be worked out on the ground, in the town where the business runs,” he added.

Each branch will be led by a Branch Manager, supported by a Branch Credit Manager and a local sales team. Saarathi plans further additions in Karnataka as part of its Phase Two rollout.
